Move or edit Continuous Dimensions together

Hi everyone,

I’m working on dimensioning a project and using Continuous Dimensions.

However, after creating them, I find it very time-consuming to move or edit them — I have to select each one individually, or manually pick the control points of each segment to adjust them. I was hoping for a workflow more similar to AutoCAD or Archicad, where dimensions created together behave as a group and can be edited or moved all at once. And if needed, I could explode or separate them later.

Is there a way to treat continuous dimensions as a single editable object in Rhino?
If not, I’m open to smart suggestions or alternative workflows to dimension and modify dimensions more efficiently.

Thanks in advance!

If you’re making one long chain and immediately need to edit, SelLast will select them all.

If you need to edit them all later, if you can select them all, use PointsOn, Shift-select “Control Points” from your selection filter, and select the points you need to move, that’s generally how I do it.

Is this what you’re looking to do?

If you want them to act as a group in the future, you could group them and then SetGroupName to something memorable, perhaps? That way, if you need to edit them altogether, you can use SelGroup and pick the name from the list.

Hello, thanks for your reply.

Yes and no. I’m currently doing this way, but when I have a lot of Continuous Dim close to each other, it becomes “anoying” to select each ones. I’m hoping more for an automatic group thing, that if I move 1 point of the grouped dims (continuous dim), then all dims of that chain moves together.

Here’s more of I was thinking about (archicad continuous dim)
