I had 3 monitors 26", 1920x1200.
Now I have a 4K 43" LG.
It is far better than the group of 3.
The 43" is large enough to be able to run at 100% or 125%.
The main advantage is that we can drag the windows higher, no need to scroll so much.
43" sounds much more reasonable, I’m using 27" 4K monitor Dell P2715Q. I just measured UI text in Photoshop and it’s exactly 1mm high. I’m attaching a screenshot, how small text in PS is (100%) compared to Windows text (150%).
So, to make my conclusion, reading everyone’s positive experience and their monitor size, I guess 4K sucks only if you’re using it on 27" monitor like I do. ![]()
Can you push the monitor closer to your nose?
Can’t do.
It’s 35 cm from the tip of my nose at the moment and if I get any closer, it becomes hard to read stuff in corners.
Right now I would need a new #bendgate with Dell monitors. Would it be possible to sit on the screen and bend it?
J.
There is something wrong with your eyesight. I am over 60-years old, so I have to use glasses, but I can easily read small text when I wear the glasses. By the way, 32-inch monitors are twice as expensive as 27-inch monitors. In my opinion, the 32-inch monitor is a waste of money.
According to Antonelli himself this hack is no longer neccessary on Win 10 with Creators Update. Even my old Adobe CS6 looks acceptable now on HiRes screens (without custom manifests).
Yes, after “Creators” update. We call it “Create Problems” update. In CS6 there is also the “Experimental” feature in Properties to scale the UI. But if you are on WIN7 and still using CS5, the manifest was the best option even with the blurriness it created.

I have posted this link here a few thousand times, but what the hell, I’ll do it again.
This is your first and only stop for product reviews. They aggregate all other reviews and then do their own testing. Etc.
I’ve actually seen all 4 top Wirecutter choices (we have 3 of them) and concur with their assessment at each size and price point - as best as possible without having seen the dregs in totality.
Software issues be dammed - wring 'em out one way or another. Overall leap is quantum.
4k (preferably 5k) from my cold dead hand! Wake me for 8k…
LG 43UD79-B 42.5" 4K UHD LED monitor gets my vote. I now run only Rhino 6 and hated 4K with Rhino 5. This monitor stomps on all the ones I had before.

Terry.
LG 43UD79-B: Exactly mine.
What I didn’t like is the stand.
The monitor is too far up for me.
Solved it with an adjustable wall mount.
You sound like LG salesman… Perfect color calibration is not important because the colors are adjustable. Dell U2718Q monitor has 5-year warranty. If there is one dead pixel, you can replace defective monitor for new monitor free of charge. LG 27UD58-B monitor has only one year warranty.
Actually, no. I just posted a link to a website I like.
All of my eight monitors are Dell due to the guarantee and quality … .plus they were #1 at the different times I purchased.
Same here. But today I was shopping for TVs for the office and I saw the LG OLED ones. Oh my, those look amazing😍, but too expensive for a large TV so I’ll go LCD. …but I’m wondering: Have anyone thought about going OLED for 4K monitors?
You need to watch out for burn-in with OLED. Less of an issue for TV’s but big exposure for monitors running operating systems that have fixed menus on the screen all the time. Sort of spoils the fun of having the best display when all the pixels at the bottom are dim whenever you view photos or Rhino full screen. Very painful to experience.
I do not recommend OLED for monitor applications given the current state of the art.
I even avoided the LG OLED TVs for my latest 75" model and got the nearly same rated Sony with local dimming LED display.
OLED technology is not quite there yet. Give it a little more time.
Regards,
Terry.
that’s a great point Terry, I forgot about the burn-in. I can imagine the rhino toolbars staying there forever. Not good.
Yes it is tricky with OLED. The display quality is so seductive that you can easily forget about other issues. So seductive.
My 42.5" display does not disappoint. Its big. Its big. Its big. Oops, did I say that 3 times. But not too big. I run Rhino on the left side, Python script editor in the middle bottom, Python help info in the top middle and Rhinoscript help on the Right side. Heaven.
Regards,
Terry.
Yeah, I see that general vibe.
Usually I’m the person who encounters first glitches before even the splash-screen appears.
With Win 10 I have no mayor issues. Worked fine so far.
Maybe there’s some Hardware/OS conditions which make this experimental feature show up in Preferences.
I have never seen it with Win 7 and Win 10, Low and HiRes displays.
