What would be the best way to model complicated architectural ornaments such as “Muqarnas”
What I can think of is that the process would be divided into 3 stages:
Drawing a specific 2D shape to be the base plan of your unit (it doesn’t have to be exactly like the picture, I can design my own shape, just using the same concept).
Converting that 2d shape into 3D, and this wouldn’t be a simple task as it’s not just and extrusion. If i modeled that in 3DS Max I would use a lot of solid editing and subtraction.
3.Arraying the 3d shape, which also wouldn’t be easy since it’s not rectangular or radial
