I wonder if there is an easy way to model dunes in rhino? I think it is not easy to achieve the natural form via mannually modeling, especially when you are dealling with a large scene… Maybe there is some plug-ins can simulate this kind of continuous and differenciative form?

My first thought might be to try creating a developable surface using Kangaroo.
Thanks for your reply CYC, do you mean simulating something like a cloth? I think the difficult part is to create the continous and winding ridge of dunes. I don’t have a clear idea how to do it via Kangaroo…

Use a height map to move the vertices of a dense mesh/surface along the Z-axis would be a simple approach.
