I’m
having a little tiny trouble with hatch match in the hatching dialogue box. The hatch is working well with all the properties of the parent object, except for the layer that it is located in, even when you change the toggle to match layer. Maybe i am doing it wrong, because it seems so obvious.

One thing I’ve noticed over the years is that having it “on the list” doesn’t help the user with a problem much.

Apparently, it isn’t equally obvious for all users. As it is now, only properties that are specific to hatch objects are being matched when using that button. It would appear that 50% of the users expect it to behave like that…
For the time being, you can create a “dummy” hatch and then either use the MatchProperties command or use the Match button on the “Object” page in the Properties panel.
