I have a inclined surface, this consists of multiple small surface element (Internalized element in the script). the surface is rotating in 3D, I need to divide the surface as shown in the image, probably based on the length, a grid of 1000mmx1000mm (size can be varying). For example, to mesh it into small pieces. Can someone please help me which node should i be using, i tried dividing the surface using Divide Surface, but its not working as i thought.. appreciate if someone can help with this
Thanks @jessesn , it shows it uses 4.8 version, and i cant change this as i depend on another external API which supports only 4.8.. is there any other way to achieve this without this plugin.?
Thanks @Joseph_Oster , i downloaded the file you have attached but i am not able to see the frames which are aligned. Hopefully, if these frames cut the surface, which would give me the curves, and i can still utilize these curves and further divide it into 4 or 5 pieces and try to join.. or even try manually.. can you please share the file where i can use those frames.?? I tried turning on all the previews also..
The most likely reason you can’t see the planes is because they are too small for this geometry. It’s always useful to be able to see “plane icons”, which can require changing their size, depending on the scale of geometry. That is done using ‘Display | Preview Plane Size’:
Yes, that was my intent, but as I have explained, there are problems. Segments of the ramp cannot be joined into a single brep due to poor quality geometry. This ramp isn’t a single surface, it’s a polysurface consisting of multiple “faces”. Unfortunately, they don’t all touch.
P.S. I tried to clean up this ramp geometry but it’s too corrupted. Not saying it’s impossible but it is unlikely that you would understand the extraordinary effort required. Better to re-create the ramp completely so its geometry is “clean”.
