Mesh difference with intersecting planes

Hi, I am very new to Rhino and Grasshopper and have really only worked in solid modellers before, I have been having an issue where when you Mesh difference two objects which share a plane, sometimes that plane is not removed.
For example I have two differently sized cubes, but when mesh differencing, some extra planes remain.

Is there any way to prevent these?
Thanks!

Sorry if I worded that wrong, I am aiming for this shape without the two zero-thickness planes

Seems like a bug

Seems like a V8 bug.

File from @Quan_Li works as expected with V7 on Windows and macOS.

V8 on Windows shows incorrect result (with zero thickness faces).

My iMac is too old to run V8 :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Bug Report: Mesh Boolean leaves thin wall in R8.

Thank you for this report. We are keeping track of this at RH-80320 thanks to @Japhy’s intervention.

Will this bug be fixed in R8 SR5?

Hi Quan Li, You can get the state of a Youtrack issue in your Rhino version by running the command GetIssueState and imputing the number, RH-80320 in this case (currently False). I made the youtrack public, its currently scheduled for 8.x with no fix for testing yet.
