Material thumbnails gone. Windows or Rhino problem?

I don’t often use materials so I just noticed this today when trying to apply a chrome to an object. First, none of the thumbnails are showing up like they used to. Secondly, render mode and ray traced give me the image.

Hi
If your V6 or V7 WIP are not displaying material previews, run “TestRestoreLibraryFileAssociations” in the Windows V7 WIP, and it should re-register the thumbnail previewer dll for both V6 and V7.

Hello -

Chrome needs something to reflect - it appears your background is just gray, so that is how chrome would look in a dense fog. In the Render panel, click on ‘Reset to defaults’.

That will set the default Studio environment. Though, you might want to look through the available background images to spice it up a bit.
