Is there a way to see one of my layouts in one of the 4 viewports? I’m realizing that feature would be very helpful when creating drawings.
This would be quite useful and handy. Going back and forth between model view and Layout can be frustrating. Surely you can edit in detail view from Layout, but it’s limiting especially when you want the view locked not to mess with scale or positioning.
Hi -
That’s not possible, no. You can use NewFloatingViewport
to make one or more floating viewports of model space, though.

I finally tried NewFloatingViewport but it seems that I’m not able to do anything after I get the viewport. I’ve since closed the viewport and now I’m stuck. Can’t even save my work to reboot rhino. Attached photo is my command history. Please help!!
Hi Chris -
I can’t tell from that screenshot which command Rhino is currently stuck in. There is probably some dialog box behind a window somewhere. Do you have multiple monitors? What if you lock the computer and then unlock it again?

Thanks Wim. I just ended up restarting rhino. Luckily I only lost a little bit of work. I’m also not clear on which command rhino was stuck in. From what I remember the last command before getting stuck was setting the display mode in the floating viewport to shaded.
Confirmed: I just recreated the issue. It happened once I changed the floating viewport view to shaded.
Hi Chris -
I’m afraid I’m not able to reproduce that issue here with that workflow:
