There was some pieces engraved, but as it was not possible to put number on painted pieces, I used a PDF I made to recognize each piece. It is not very fast but it allows to put pieces by lot, pieces from 1 to 9, 10 to 19 … here a part of the file, the file with all pieces is far better in Quality. But it is 35 Mo and 135 pages.
table basse.pdf (632.6 KB)
Then I use Rhinoceros to recognize the pieces when it is assembly time.
Much respect!
@laurent_delrieu, I was thinking about this. Why you didn’t start making tutorials on youtube. You have such a great knowledge of the software and experience… it would be awesome…

@LeGaulois I am not on the way to make tutorial, I like to discover new things by answering questions on this forum, why not giving some courses, but as I have a full time job I don’t have lot of time to do that. Grasshopper things are a leisure/hobby for me and I want to keep it like that.
@laurent_delrieu Maybe I am a little bit late for the party, but I could not pass when I saw the clustered part.
I was trying to work with fabric patches once, to make a concrete form that would look something similar to this Six fabric-cast concrete examples breaking the mould , but back then I could not figure out how to divide one mesh on a nice looking patches like the ones i see here. Can you give me a hint maybe?
I have made some discussion about clustering a mesh
Simple clustering begin with a seed when you have to add rings. Making mores distorted cluster needs to flip some faces between a cell and an adjacent cell.
You have access for free at standard clustering in Nautilus. The more advanced is not sold.
Thank you very much!
