Is it somehow possible to have a layer locked in a template file?
I don’t see why not…
Hi Martin -Yes, sure - lock or hide etc. the layers you like and then SaveAsTemplate
.
-Pascal
I tried that but it doesn’t seem to work?
Hi Martin - this worked here
Small Objects - Millimeters_locked.3dm (27.1 KB)
If that file is saved to the templatesd folder, does New find it and correctly show the two locked layers?
-Pascal
In my case the locked layer contains a linked block. I’ll post an example tomorrow
Small Objects - Millimeters xyz.3dm (85.3 KB)
xyz.3dm (127.3 KB)
@pascal I see it works for a normal layer. I’m referencing another file as a linked block however and that layer does not remain locked.
Ideally I’d want a grid where axes and plane intersect better with objects…
After 15 years of working with Rhino I found out about the advanced grid settings option to show the grid on top of objects… This locked layer in template file problem is hence somewhat obsolete.
