Line from Tangent—Tangent Point

If I do Line Tangent from Curve and I click on the curve near where I want the tangent.

Is there way way to keep the line from jumping to the opposite side to another tangent point?

Hello- if you start the line at the lower end, and then use the Tan OSnap, does that get you what you need? Otherwise, if you know where you want to be tangent from on the circle, click that location and use the ‘FromFirstPoint’ option to lock it in.

You can get that to work. In fact, that is what I ended up having to do. The problem with that approach i that TAN appears to be a rather week OSNAP and Rhino does not have an option to force a click to be at some snap.

After following that approach, I have to trim the circle then do GCON to ensure that the line had actually ended up at the snap tangent, which it often was not, in which case I had to try again.

Tangent from line at least insures that that the line is tangent to the circle.
