Layout to transparent PDF

I exported some drawings to a vector PDF and I got the transparency to work somehow as seen below. Its placed in Adobe Illustrator.

However,

When I went to update the drawings I guess some settings had changed and now I can no longer print it to have a transparent background.

I don’t know what happened for this to occur.

hard to help with the info you provide:
post a screenshot of the pdf dialog. with all sections extended.

some guessing:

  • double check that you use vector int the pdf dialog.
  • did you change the display mode of the details ?
  • make a copy of the document, delete all Materials, try again.
  • did you try to restart your computer and rhino ? rhino is uptodate ?
  • try with a new empty document, set up a simple drawing and see if the pdf generation works.
Then maybe stepwise copy stuff from the old document to the new one …

good luck / kind regards -tom

Thanks for your help, I thought it would be an easy solution I was simply overlooking.
Creating a new file worked for me, but why would it not work on the other file?
Is there a reset command that will reload the print functionality?
Here is the PDF dialog of the file that doesn’t work. it matches the working dialogue box

I have figured it out, the problem was that I had an object with a semi-transparency texture in the file, and for some reason that was causing the issue. I can simply hide the object or turn off the layer it is on to export my drawings with a transparent background.
