Layer reading order

Hi Everyone

I am trying to organise my layer naming and how it is displayed when I click ‘reorder’ layer names. The issue I have is technically correct however I would like Rhino to identify the first section in the naming as a complete number rather than individual numbers.

So currently in order I have as layer names…

15mm Steel Plate
18mm Steel Plate
1mm Steel Plate
20mm Steel Plate
2mm Steel Plate
3mm Steel Plate

However I would like it to be displayed after reorder as…

1mm Steel Plate
2mm Steel Plate
3mm Steel Plate
15mm Steel Plate
18mm Steel Plate
20mm Steel Plate

The only work around is to position a ‘0’ in front of all single digit numbers however thats not ideal for me as I reference layernames using Fx in drawings and do not want ‘02mm Steel Plate’ shown.

It probably relates to the operating system rather than software but would be extremely useful if there were alternative methods.

Thats amazing - Im using v7 (I have v8 but not yet installed as I want to complete a job before upgrading).

Update - I just installed v8 and my question is sorted in v8!
