Karamba Cross Section Optimizer getting Too Large Members

Hello everyone,

I am currently working an bamboo tower architecture proposal, that involves bundles of bamboo as the exoskeleton of the structure. I am sure that everything in the karamba model is connected.

However, after applying general load conditions (gravity-1, slab loads-2, and wind load 2kN/sqm), the cross section optimizer is giving me massive members, and stating that the largest cross section is not enough to support the structure.

Since I am not too familiar with engineering, is there any suggestion that I can modify the structural design to get a better result that is more rational? Attached the images for reference.

Thank you very much

Just an Addition Note, the above result is generated with a group ID to force symmetry, this version is a cross section optimization without the group ID, it appears to have less insufficient cross sections in the error message,

but the problem with this attempt above is the cross sections are quite random (it suddenly thickens in the middle of a member)

are you able to share any scripts as it is hard to provide support without a reference.

Things to check:

  1. check the units (default units are in m)
  2. check that the elements are connected where they should be connected (split at their intersections)
