Jewelry Design Modifications

I’m new to learning Rhino and am looking for someone to make modifications to my existing jewelry designs for 3D printing. Modifications such as making a bracelet X amount wider or thicker, rounding off sharp edges, moving resizing or replacing design components.

I can create a drop box for the files.

Iv msgd you!

Hello Jeffery,

A route you could go in tandem with this is that there are some very good jewelry specific online courses etc. that in general will cover the modeling tasks you mention.

Thank you,

Andrew

Thanks, yes I’m definitely interested in learning. Do yo suggest googling Rhino Jewelry Courses or is there a specific resource that you would recommend?
I am currently working through the Rhino basic course and am searching for a University 3D design degree program that teaches Rhino.

Hello Bishop,

I am hesitant to recommend specific course because It is impossible for me to know what your goals are e.g. are you interested in fine jewelry with precious gemstones or jewelry of precious metal, both etc. it suffices to say that there fortunately many good course and online tutorials . There are also many good jewellery specific plugin-ins that are quite helpful.

So places to look to see if intuitively you can pick one that looks promising accomplish your current needs. Then go from their.

Places to look excluding searches are:

  • look / search in the forum News section:
Training will be announce there some of which is jewelry relate.
  • Consider to Join the following:

*Rhino - Rhino for the Jeweler

*Foodforthino

Search for schools that offer a comprehensive curriculum [on this form I recall thee is a listing of some of these schools.

But most of all, in tandem with your training search, I feel that it is very important to continue with the what you are already doing - Working Through the Rhino basic course [I believe there is one specifically for R8] as it forms your foundation and at leas 3X week I type the F3 key that takes one to the online help documentation for the command in question. [click on the command / and or in line prompt] first. I find my self doing this for well know commands so as to review them as well as new ones.

Thank you,
Any

Thank you for the info, I’ll check it out. Currently I make handmade silver & gold jewelry

My goal is to start designing pieces using Rhino to 3D print prototypes and models for molding.

Hello Jeff,

You may also want to re -read my post - I have never seen such sloppy typography. I have now edited - according to the counter- 3 times. I have a feeling the counter gave me a break.

I will check out your page. I would say that Native American Art is, if not my wife’s favorite type of Art, it is in the top three.

Curious; does the following give you the impression that it has some Native American symbolism to it?

Thank you,

Andy

Hello Bishop,

I looked over your website, quite nice. Given the tasks that you currently want to accomplish and having seen some of your designs, I honestly do not see [am confident] that you require someone to make modifications to you designs on your behalf at this point, given the output is to be a silver [.925] piece of jewelry.

The “Modern Day Warrior” will get you their. Then one could try [at first] a single Turquoise stone design. If you feel comfortable you can post the *.3dm file describing what at that point you are trying to accomplish -having a difficulty with- to this form and someone will help you. As you will find, this board is truly special. Populated with very smart people [and not tending to be intimidation, but when needed, some “tough love” yes. Overall Rhino users at this form are sympathetic and empathetic.] Many are expert at Rhino- they know. Alternatively, if you would like to have the file remain confidential - McNeel & Associates- “eyes only”-one can upload it:

I believe using the above link would result in a confidential upload but please perhaps send them an email to confirm. Doing so might also generate a specific person for you to send your file to.

However, keeping file[s] confidential does not seem to be a need as you offer to create a drop box. Such might only be needed if the models are quite large.

In this post, I am confining myself to the modeling only, not the 3D Printing.

Thank you,

Andy

The designs and completed work on my website have been handmade by me. Not using Rhino 3D. I am just now starting to learn Rhino which is why I am needing someone to assist in making design modifications for 3D printing. Thank you for the responses, I believe I have found someone to complete the jobs.
