Is this a bug ...project wont accept curves already selected in shaded view?

I have grouped sets of circles, hundreds of circles, I select the groups in wireframe view FRONT, then go to shaded view and type project and it says select curves to project but they are already selected and it wont allow further selection. game over !

If I type project before going to shaded view then it says select surfaces, then I go to shaded view and select surfaces and all is ok !

I can’t reproduce this. How are you getting to the shaded viewport - click in viewport? Click viewport title? Command? Ctrl+Tab? Click viewport tab?

Does your shaded mode show curves at all?
