When I make a selection with drag-right or drag-left, in plan view, not every curve is included in the selection. It seems that it’s the shorter/smaller curves that are not included (not allways short curves though), so I have to zoom in and add those to the selection, which is not very good a workflow.
I’m aware of the difference between the two selection functions, and I’m sure that all curves are within the marked area, and on the same Z plane as well.
Perspective view does not do this, and works like it should.
Both in v7 and v8.

Thanks for the file. If this happens in every file and multiple versions of Rhino, we’d have lots of reports about this issue. It’s looking more like a system-specific at this point.
When I window-select left-to-right everything in the top viewport, I get:
52 block instances, 235 curves, 37 texts added to selection.
When I do this in the perspective viewport (after zooming to extents), I get the same number of objects.
If you open the file that you attached here, and then immediately left-to-right window select from the top-left corner of the maximized viewport to the bottom right, do you get different numbers? If not, is there a specific workflow that makes this report different numbers?
A longshot, but when you disable the 3rd party plug-ins and restart Rhino, does the problem remain?

Wim,
I have tried disabling all of the plug-ins on the list and then bit by bit enabling, until I finally had them all checked again… Oddly (for me at least) the issue is gone. But all checkmarks should be the same as before. I can’t make sense of this.
I also tried enabling the ones you refer to, VRay, VisualArq etc., but no difference whether enabled or not.
It’s solved for now I guess, by having all of them reloaded. But i’ll let you know if this changes.
