Is there an app to view .3dm drawings?

Hi,

Does anyone know about an app for ios or android to view 2D drawings from Rhino? I´d like only to view drawings and measure dimensions.

More than five years late, but a search for this question still lands here, so here is what exists now, at least on Android.

Disclosure first: I built the app below, so read the rest with that in mind.

SRD Android CAD Viewer opens a .3dm directly on an Android phone or tablet. Rhino’s own file reader runs on the device, so there is no export and no conversion.

For the two things you asked for:

  • Viewing drawings: model space and every layout, the way Rhino puts them on paper, with dimensions, hatches, detail views and text.
  • Measuring: an instant distance without placing anything, plus linear, aligned, radius, diameter and angular dimensions, and a point’s coordinates from 0,0. It is a viewer, so nothing you add is written back to the file.

It also opens the 3D model, shaded or ghosted, with a section box you drag to cut it open.

Free to download today. Opening a file needs no connection, but the app has to reach our server at least once a week, and after the first week it asks you to sign in. Details and download: SRD Android CAD Viewer
