IronPython 3.4 availability

Hello,
IronPytnon 3 is available on the IronPython website. Is there a guide how to make use of it in Rhino and Grasshopper.

Caveat: first alpha release. Long way to go to the point where we can expect a stable platform.

This is not something you can just simply replace in Rhino. As @jeremy5 points out IronPython 3.x is still very much alpha.

And it’ll take time to upgrade if we ever do that.

I understand. Thanks!

V8 target?

I’m unsure whether to look into my tea leaves or crystal ball.

IronPython 3.4 was officially released on 12 Dec 2022:

Does this change what versions(s) of Python will be shipped with Rhino8? Do McNeel contemplate replacing IronPython 2.7 with 3.4?

Many thanks

Rhino 8 will continue to include IronPython 2.7. We are not planning on replacing this with IronPython 3.4.

Rhino 8 will also include a new CPython 3 implementation which can be thought of as a new scripting language that will be supported in Rhino.
