I keep getting Invalid Geometry alerts when I join my surfaces. Problem seems to occur when I build Edge Curve Surfaces. And as a further result, I’m not able to build and save a sufficient STL file.
Rhino_Geometry_Test.3dm (3.6 MB)
Any help is appreciated, and I’ve included the 3DM file.
The surfaces which are forming the cutouts might be self-intersecting. There are 4 open edges.
The cutouts can be modeled in a better way.
These surfaces here are not good.
What is the requirement for this part? What are the cutouts for?
Thank you Martin for weighing in. For some reason I was not able to locate the bad edges when I did an analysis. The cutouts are merely decorative. I will have another look at a way to complete this without them intersecting one another. Thanks again, Brad
Hey Martin,
That was it. I was able to decrease the severity of the angles by a large margin, and my edges matched, and I was able to construct a solid STL file for printing.
Thank you very much for your quick response, and your detective work of my file. I hope you have a great weekend!
Brad
