According to the documentation, using the option “Use simple entities when possible” should create IGES entity with types 108 (planes) or 144(Trimmed surface. But when using it is still using type 128 (Rational B-Spline Surface). Does it conflict with an other option or am I missing something?
Hi Julien - can you please post a Rhino file with one or two objects that are not behaving as expected?

I’m not Julien but here is a .3dm file with a plane and a non-rational curved surface.
IGES test V7 DC.3dm (2.7 MB)
I exported the objects as IGES using a type with “Use simple entities when possible” checked. The result is type 128 entities. (Assuming I am interpreting the IGES file correctly and I have not looked at IGES filies in 35 years.)
IGES test V7 DC.igs (4.8 KB)
Looks like a bug to me.
I did something similar to what David did with the same result. It does look like a bug to me too. “Use simple entities when possible” seems to be ignored or overwritten by an other option.
