How to make this vertical growth

I am quite new to grasshopper, and I wanted to experiment with making something like this Fiberbot structure by the Mediated Matter group at the MIT Media Lab and Neri Oxman.

It seems like they were able to guide the growth direction of each strand and also make them grow around a geometry.

Any help would be appreciated!

Increasingly complex lines

Hi, I have a grid of points that I want to put lines on, but as the x axis increases on the grid, I want the lines to become increasingly complex while maintaining the same length. To get this complexity I would like them to be divided randomly and angled randomly at an increasingly random variable range.
