When I launch rhino, I typically have configure my application window to be split screen ( and not really 50/50 ). I would like rhino to save my window size and location, but this doesn’t seem to work.
Is there a way to save my window settings, or a command to set the location and size of the application window?
Hello - normally Rhino should open as it was closed - are you finding that is not the case? I have no idea what it does if there is some other utility monkeying with the screen layout though.
I just opened rhino, moved my window to a split screen location (docked right 1/2 screen) and closed rhino. I had no file opened and made no edits, so there was nothing in the file to save. Opening rhino again, it is in the same location as it started the first time I opened.
I have seen the window settings get saved and applied, but it seems to only work (in my experience) when the window is full screen on one of my monitors. The partial screen settings seem to not be saved.
edit - I just tried again. If I put rhino fullscreen and close, it will open full screen on that monitor- confirmed.
I tried again moving as 1/2 screen and closed. It opens floating in the middle of that monitor
Thanks Japhy, that is interesting. I will check this out.
I still would like to know if rhino can save and use screen locations for non full screen modes.
I don’t always have the ability to install software on computers I am using.
I’m not seeing that behavior. I have one instance of Rhino open, not fullscreen, close it and it opens in the same location as i closed it. Move it and repeat and same result. I’m only on one monitor. What is your systemInfo (via Rhino command line)
@Japhy If you dock the Rhino mainframe as a split screen, i.e. drag the top edge into the top of the screen - the bottom edge automatically goes down to the bottom edge. then drag left or right to the left or right screen edge till it ‘snaps’ there (not surre if that is what the OP is doing but it must be similar} , and close, it does not open like that - it thinks it is in some ‘restored’ state.
If you just stretch the window without letting it snap and dock , then it is remembered.

Thanks Pascal, I was pulling the window until it bumps the right edge, then stretching the right docked window to the width I wanted, and this was not saved.
I will try stretching without actually snapping to the screen’s edges and see it I can make that work.
