How to close a mesh opening?
My brain burns.
Close mesh opening 01.gh (26.1 KB)
The Mesh + plugin contains a cap mesh component - along with dozens of other useful items.
Hoorayy!
Hi,
Please help me my mesh are not close
brep from mesh rev1.gh (6.4 KB)
brep from mesh rev1.3dm (925.6 KB)
It would be a lot easier if I knew how you created these meshes to begin with, As you can see below, you have a number of naked edges which are probably a result of the method you used to create the original brep.
thanks you for quick reply
It is view in Rhino model, right?
What command do you use to analysis meshs?
my mesh in grasshopper is not close, how to fix it?
I used the Show Edges item from the toolbar.
How did you create your meshes? Were they meshes to start with or did you mesh breps?
Rather than fixing them, it might make more sense to make a model without them, that’s why I’m asking how it was done.
Thank you what your command you use to make brep in Rhino?
No command, polysurface = Brep
Thanks Michael,
But in my Rhino file it only are meshs
brep from mesh rev1_RE.3dm (3.6 MB)
Hey, your Mesh is closed now.
I did it without Grasshopepr though.
As Ethan Gross explained i looked at the “naked edges” of the mesh and deletete faces with naked edges with “_Deletemeshfaces”
After that i closed the open holes with " _FillMeshHole" and “_3DFace”
Hi Thank you Nils,
I just try check your file I see two problem
Rhino warning this is bad mesh
And the position it not smooth, maybe was deleted some mesh from origin file
General information about this mesh:
Mesh has 34 extremely short edges.
Mesh has 33087 non manifold edges.
Mesh has 26263 duplicate faces.
Skipping face direction check because of positive non manifold edge count.
Mesh has 156043 pairs of faces that intersect each other.
This can cause problems if you’re doing mesh boolean operations with it.
Mesh has 180 naked edges. Naked edges can cause problems if the ultimate goal is STL output.
Mesh has 1 normal that is not a unit vector, 1 of which has zero length.
These normals can cause problems if the ultimate goal is for rendering purposes.
Mesh has 141 faces where the face normal differs substantially from the vertex normals.
These normals can cause problems if the ultimate goal is for rendering or boolean purposes.
Mesh does not have any degenerate faces.
Mesh does not have any ngons.
Mesh does not have any disjoint pieces.
Mesh does not have any unused vertices.
