How to clear the HistoryRecord of a RhinoObject?
I found out that the transformation due to HistoryRecord breaks the CustomObjects that I have.
How to perform a check on whether it has a HistoryRecord and then purge it upon duplicating an object?

This part about HistoryRecord is severely underdocumented.

The best you can do in RhinoCommon, at this time, is to script the HistoryPurge command.
