How do I recreate these organic patterns in GH?

Hi guys,
I’m a complete newbie with GH and have spent the past few months learning the basics. I’d like to learn how to create organic patterrns for CNC routing in wood - loosely based on the attached image, which is from a woodworker I greatly admire. I don’t plan to replicate it - but I would like to understand the tools needed to do something like this.
Would appreciate any guidance, links to a video, or sample scripts to peruse. At the moment I don’t even know the names of the components / processes needed to make this!

Thanks much!

K

Hey,

At the end of the thread that Ajarindia has posted there is a really neat solution.
If you study that and recreate it you will learn how to do this sort of pattern!

Thanks so much! This is a super detailed thread - I’ll go through it and I’m sure I’ll be back with more questions

Thanks! Still working my way through it - which option in particular are you referring to? There seem to be several variations of technique discussed.

Is it the Heteroptera option?

Yes, that was the neatest solution in my opinion and I still use it when I want to create this sort of pattern

would you have a script using this method that you would be okay sharing? Just so I can spend some quality time understanding every component and how it all goes together. I’m not able to understand the photos in that post to be honest. The joys of being a noob.

It would truly be a great help, if possible.

You can look at this script also, it is quite simple. It require Nautilus or other Noise tools and possibly Weavebird to refine the mesh.

Thanks a ton! This is SUPER helpful
Over the past two days I got close, but this explains my goof ups a lot better!

cheers

Here is quite the same thing (no points as inputs indeed) with Nautilus. Martyn version on Top, Nautilus on bottom

Mesh Bump autimatically rescale input heights ans use points normal.
