By default dots are always visible even if they are behind something. Is there a setting to make dots hidden if they are behind something?
Hello - no. Text pays attention to 3d space but dots do not.

This would be a nice feature to have, either globally or a property of a dot. I am using dots to represent weight items, for example a dot with text “BV” representing a ball valve. I don’t really want to see it through the boat’s hull plating.
You might want to try creating Text and checking the box for making it horizontal to view. You can also check the box for “draw frame around text”.
