Hexagonal grid based on spacing on a curved/ non-planar surface

Hi guys,

I need help regarding the making grid in a non planar surface.

geometry need : for the placement of hexagonal tiles on a curved roof

I tried to create with hex grid with hexagonal grid and with hexagonal cell
the hex grid doesn’t work for me since it divide by U V but i need by size division(it does support on srf placement)
the hex cell is does work because it is by size division but can’t support on srf.
when i used project to get points but the distribution got distant or overlap based on curvature of srf
(context: this model is for tile placement so the tile and tile gap should be constant)
and yeah surface morph also doesn’t work (it maintain tile gap correctly but distort the tile )

is there any method or plugin or any to achieve it.

Thanks in advance

software: rhino6 | grasshopper

I suggest you first search for relevant discussion topics on the discourse; you should be able to find some useful reference material.

If you encounter an issue at any step, I recommend using screenshots to illustrate the situation you’re facing, and ideally, includ your 3dm and gh files as well.

thank you @jessesn for replying and forgive me not replying sooner.
i’m not able to reply to this thread due to work.

thanks for this suggestion BUT matter of fact i search all in relevance to my need but none solve it.
ex: there are solutions hex grid for irregular plane but planar plane[mine is irregular and non planar plane] and more but none suited for solution[by the client need]

i even tried my own but bits from all but not working [working but client rejected outcome]

i actually wanted to include but not , because i already asked this question before with full detail screenshot , .3dm files , .gh file but none replied

so , i assumed the complex nature of question get skipped , so i asked this question in general term so i may get solution

note : yeah we finished model since we can achieve the client need from grasshopper we just done it in rhino with some manual work.

and again thanks for replying
