Help getting text to show horizontal to view in Front

Help! Trying to use dimensioning of curve length for the first time and the text refuses to show in front view. It shows in top view only correctly. Grrr. Refuses to show correctly in Front. Can’t upload cause the file is too big. Would try to create a simpler file to show but trying to drain the swamp and haven’t got time. Any ideas?

I copied a section of the file to make something smaller.

Thank you for your feedback. I will confirm this issue with our development engineers later. As a temporary solution, you can use the Gumball to rotate it, which should allow it to display properly in different viewport, and for your reference.

Yes, I know I can rotate it. But I had 12 of them to do so rotating each and every one was a pain. I ended up calculating what I needed in a spreadsheet.

Please give it a try with BoxEdit, and fyi.

Thanks for that. It will help if there’s a next time. But I hope y’all keep working to get the display correct as it should be for that annotation.

Hi Joe -

I’ve put that issue on the list as RH-90620 Annotation: Dim not on Active CPlane

In case you need to create more such annotations until this gets fixed, this works correctly when you use the “Type=Leader” option instead of “Type=Text”.
-wim

Well, it does sometimes. I got it to work once. Trying again showed the leader arrow but it posted the numbers way way away to the left of the end of the leader. Crazy.

Hi Joe -

That sounds like an annotation style issue and I’d need a 3dm file to be able check what’s going on.
-wim

Here is an example. Note that the dimension connected to the leader closer to the middle of the curve is way off to the left. But in the attached file, it will be seen to be closer to the correct position. The movement happens when I save the file. Very strange. So that whole annotation feature needs to be corrected.
