Hatch Fail then Crash in RH7

Rhino 7 cannot hatch, shows sorting window then freeze or crash.
It fails even with a single rectangle and my computer definitely has enough memory.
Is there a solution to this? Thank you!

Hello- please run the SystemInfo command in Rhino and copy/paste the results here.

-Pascal

Thank you and I have copied the system info here.

Hello - please disable VRay in Options > PLugIns page and then close and restart Rhino - does the problem persist?

-Pascal

Yes. The problem won’t happen after disabled Vray. Is there a way of solving it without disabling vray?
Thank you!

Hey Pascal,
I too am experiencing Rhino crashes (actually freezes and i have to hit restart button) with Vray5. 1-3x per day, typically when rendering.
I’'ve uninstalled Vray 5 & reinstalled, seems to work for a few days, then the crashes start again.
Rhino file sizes are around 30mb
I started with eval of Rhino 6, then bought & installed Rhino 7, then uninstalled Rhino 6. So not sure if something left over from R6 is causing problems?
or vray next to vray 5?
thanks,
Glenn

Hello - if uninstalling and reainstalling Rhino and VRay does nothing to sort it out, it seems like the best is to have a chat with VRay support. We do not have Vray here to test with.

-Pascal

Thank you for your help!

thanks for the reply, I have not tried uninstall & reinstall of Rhino7 yet.
I’ll give that a shot next break in work & let you know.
Glenn

dug around Vray forum, appears to have been a fur (grass in my case) issue exceeding GPU memory.
Part of the posting about how to correct:
“… Please enable the Fur’s option ‘Level of detail’ and set its ‘Start Distance’ and ‘Rate’ values to 100 (or even less)…”
