Gumball settings: Align to Cplane? Bug?

In the attached file, if I click on the object then my gumball pops up, but it is set to Align to Cplane. In this case, as far as I know, there’s no Cplane in the file, so I don’t understand what it’s aligning to. Is there a phantom cplane here? If so, how do I get rid of it? I don’t want to have to change my gumball settings every time I open Rhino.

cplane test.3dm (40.1 KB)

It’s aligning to the CPlane in the active viewport.

How do I set the cplane to world default? I know I should know this, but I almost never use construction planes (even though I came from Solidworks before Rhino.)

In the viewport menu, Set CPlane>World Top

It’s there by default in the Perspective viewport. Don’t set this in something like a Front or Right viewport, or you won’t be able to draw anything.

Oh, when I was trying to do that (with buttons), while my object was highlighted, I expected that the gumball would update live, but I have to select nothing and then re-select the object. Thanks for your help.

Is there just a ‘set all cplanes back to world default’?

If you hit the _4View command twice in a row, it will reset all your views and CPlanes to default.

Thanks
