I’ve been having a look at the Rhino 8 Grasshopper tools.
The Rhino tab is extremely useful. I’ve been trying to find resources online of how to use the new Viewport tools. Any one has any pointers?

Certainly.
The big thing to note is that there may be additional lesser used inputs and outputs on the new GH1 components that are accessed via the ZoomUI
In this example zooming in exposes the additional controls to expand or contract the input/outputs.
These can also be shift or cntl double click on the components, or right click hide show.
This is really nice in large settings components. If you add an input or output (such as this panel), it will only collapse the unused input/outputs.
Thanks Japhy.
Super useful and nice way to keep scripts tight.
For the viewport tools though I was wondering what is the use case. Is it to import them into GH and create the image there natively, or create a the viewport in GH and bake it into Rhino.
Basically automating the creation of images directly in GH using viewports seems like a powerful thing, but don’t know if that’s is the idea behind these new tools.
Thanks!
The idea with the new Grasshopper types being added is provide more access the the fundamental aspects of Rhino without scripting or plugins. These are still early in the process so any workflows are being done by ‘early adopters’.
The View components true usefulness will become more clear once creating layouts, placing viewports get their components.
A few weeks ago Light components were added, next up are Materials.
