I am trying to apply a facade using Grasshopper but it will not let me select my rhino model as an object/surface. I have tried exploding etc but am at a real struggle.
Apologies if I am missing something obvious but I’d be very grateful for any help you could give me!
how did you generate the curves used to create the SubD? I think the trick to get the best result might be to do a step back and use earlier data to re-generate your shape from scratch
Thanks for the reply! I used a subD cylinder as my base and then scaled and refined geometry as required. I am very new to this all so appreciate your patience, I have seen another response below indicating I can apply a facade (I believe) but not using a surface. That’s where I have gone wrong! I have also gone back to before I started messing around with it so I have removed the section you have highlighted, thanks for pointing it out.
That’s great, thankyou so much. Sincerest apologies if it was outright stupid on my behalf,I had assumed I’d need to use a surface to apply a facade but clearly didn’t think it through.
Am I right in saying that I can apply a curved facade even though the base model is a SubD
I got mixed up somehow trying to get the top portion (pink) as a single surface. Started trying to get a Sweep 2 surface but ended up with a loft, after flipping, chopping and sorting section curves. Green group in purple group.
