Grasshopper for Industrial/Product Designer (Not UX/UI)

How many of you ID/Product Designers incorporate Grasshopper into your design workflow? Should I get acquainted with it because it’ll benefit me as a designer? I’ve always been hesitant using it because I haven’t quite master Rhino and to take on the added pressure of learning Grasshopper seems daunting. The nodes diagram is mind-blowing.

I’m an architect and often do what could be seen as “product design” as a hobby, as in I design, modify, and manufacture objects like I like them. In both cases, I use Grasshopper when it seems reasonable an makes sense.

It can help you to automate, optimize, and parametrize stuff. It’s a tool.

You don’t need to know all ins and outs of Rhino to learn Grasshopper. It’s quite different in many respects. It has a steep learning curve, but nowadays there’s also a lot of learning material out there.
