Hello!
I´m very new to Grasshopper and was wondering about what I believe is a very fundamental concept that I feel I´m not quite grasping. It has to do with data trees which I think is the hardest part to grasp. So, imagine I have 2 sets of curves completely unrelated like in the following example. How would I tell Grasshopper that I want the “Master” curves to be the main branches instead of what I believe its doing right now?
trees.3dm (95.5 KB)
trees.gh (9.8 KB)
I don’t understand your question or intent in having a “Master” data tree?
I’m used to examining data trees with text panels rather and Param Viewer components so wonder if you see data trees this way?
Thank you Joseph for your answer.
My intent would be, for example, say to Grasshopper that, for each of the curves that came out of the Offset Component (labeled “Master”), “associate” with a specific set of unrelated curves so that any event, like intersections, would only affect the associated curves. Its a bit hard to explain and maybe I´m not being very clear.
Not that clear to me, no, but you are referring to geometry that intersects whereas these curves do not in the files you posted. So post a new pair of files please that matches your new description?
P.S. Maybe like this?
P.P.S. Or flatten only the ‘B’ input to CCX ?
UPDATE: These are better ways to do the same thing, flattening the outputs of Offset Curve instead of the inputs to CCX.
Both:
‘B’ only:
