I have a situation in which, due to the organic nature of our design, the structural engineers are describing our structure’s sectional geometry in terms of linked segments of parabolas, to be graphed and recreated by the contractor. I need to do a check on the geometry described and I’m wondering if there is a way to plot graphs into rhino and derive curves from them. Specifically the parabolas follow the formula (x-h)^2=4P(z-k) where (h, k) are the coordinates of the vertex of the parabolic segment and h, k & p are provided in table form.
is there a plug-in or other reasonably efficient way to graph these and get the curves into rhino?
