Flow along surface?

Hi I’m a beginner in rhino and I am trying to use FlowAlongSrf command. I want my rectangular object to wrap partially around the half-hemisphere surface.

Please help me.

The target object is a polysurface - did you Ctrl+Shift select the specific subsurface?

*You might have to ‘force’ an ‘unroll’ of that halved sphere with the Squish command to use as base surface and get nicer results.

Result after squish + history on - Pascal’s method is the right one, though.

Hello- that should work - the trick may be that the target is a polar surface and it may not be clear where to click on the base and target surfaces - try clicking on one the long edges of the rectangle and the lower edge of the hemisphere.

If you do this with History, you can fine tune the location and size after the Flow’

I’m very sorry i think I haven’t addressed my problem properly.

I have a new file to explain my problem.

What I would like to do is project the three rectangular strips directly over the hemisphere and flat circular area. Therefore the end result would be that the ends of the strip would stay flat on the larger circular area and the middle portion of the three strips would wrap around the hemisphere.
