Hi, I am struggling with making a floating Rhino container that will be in front of the Grasshopper window and will allow me to display other apps in front of the Rhino.
I tried my luck with always on top function of PowerToys but failed.
When using PowerToys it is possible to stick the container in front of the Grasshopper window but it’s not playing nicely with other apps (prevents me from displaying the notepad as in the video) and it acts bizarre at best. Oh, and probably using Rhino.Inside.Revit doesn’t make it any easier…
I don’t know how much is possible, but I like the idea of a temporary, floating extension of my UI in the form of floating containers when I work on something specific and need to preview/have access to some information.
win ctrl T is a shortcut for the “always on top” function inside PowerToys, the blue border indicates it also. Generally, it’s a struggle, it’s impossible to have a container on top of Grasshopper, and another app on top of Rhino, everything else breaks in a second.
Both settings are not addressing my issue, unfortunately. There are a lot of variables though, I have Revit on one screen, Rhino and Grasshopper on another, and on top of the Grasshopper, I want a Rhino container.
When working on two screens, I can find another satisfactory layout, probably it’s more crucial when working on a laptop alone.
I started working exclusively on one screen a while ago for just such a reason, is was too much of an adjustment going from multiple monitors (using Rhino/GH) to a laptop. When plugged into a monitor now I use Powertoys to divide the workspace, but in the case of Rhino.Inside.Revit its all considered one application, so manual adjustment is required of Rhino and GH windows locations.
