Fail to bake geometry/elements fully from grasshopper to rhino

Hi, I am trying to import revit to rhino. But when I tried to bake the elements picked from revit. I failed to bake part of them, although in Grasshopper I successfully picked the info from revit. Check the image. In the component Graphical Elements (the green ones, 574 values in total), there is more geometry than I finally baked in rhino (the yellow ones, 301 blocks are baked.)

I used Revit 2023, and I tried both rhino 7 and rhino 8.

Hi Ziyi He,

Can you send the file? Everything looks ok in the screenshot but would like to see the Revit Elements. Thanks

Check for bad objects… they won’t bake.

Ziyi, It looks like its the one window family, can you open the family and save it out. You can just post it here if its not proprietary. Thanks

Hi Japhy, thanks for replying so fast. yeah you are right, they are two similar families.I uploaded it
Revit to rhino window.rfa (5.3 MB)
here.

Thanks, the nested Families can extracted via the Element Dependents component like so

Thanks for your reply. It solves my issue. Since I am new to rhino inside revit, I do have two questions.

So for independent families, I directly bake from the graphical elements component. But for nested families, I need to use the Element Dependents to kind of “explode” them to get independent families and then I can bake it. Do I understand it correctly?

So for a project including both independent families and nested families, is that correct that I need to bake two times from each components as you showed in this screenshot to get the full families?

Depends on the workflow.

Something like this would ensure you are getting all the geometry.
