I’ve got a surface with a bumpmap applied to it and I’d like to extract the mesh for 3D printing. I was hoping that extracting the rendermesh would do it but no dice. Rhino for mac doesn’t seem to have displacement mapping.
Hi okeating - bump mapping does not actually change the 3d mesh it just does some trickery with the mesh normals to make it look bumpy if you don’t look too closely - what you are after is displacement mapping and I think that is not yet in Rhino for mac - I’ll check.
How do I apply and output 3d texture for printing?
