I have a block that has a bunch of nested blocks and all blocks contain meshes with specific colors, mostly brown. This model is from AutoCAD which in turn was originally a Sketchup model. Neither my choice, haha. I explode the blocks and most of the colors turn gray–but not all, curiously. It’s proprietary so I can only show you the outline.
I have scoured the web for a solution but this is the closest I’ve gotten:
And when I use the script, it too maintains the color of some meshes but loses others.
I also tried everything here to no avail:
Is there any foolproof way to explode a block containing endless meshes but keep the color of those meshes? Rhino runs so slowly with these billions of blocks with meshes in them. I’d love to explode the blocks and merge the mesh but keep the colors intact. Seems like that is asking for a lot, though, haha.
