I still have no gotten into user data so unsure if it’s something with this.
IF we can tag our objects with:
Name, vendor, description, material and so forth
(duplicate objects would need to maintain themselves and not confuse anything)
AND also an “identity” marker/number
(The marker is ideally something we can pull out from the object once it’s laid out as ideally a “bubble-callout”)
I think the BOM could auto populate these attributes?
You can add what columns you want to your bom even.
I think something simple like bounding box can even give you some cut lengths but I’m not sure how that would work for rotated objects etc. Maybe you can pick a length on your object and save that as your data you can then populate in your table?
Having been on this journey for a little while, here are some links which should get you going. The basic gist is that it isn’t hard to roll your own solution. For what it is worth, I have avoided adding a unique custom identity marker into the usertext as it is tricky to keep track of. I suspect a database solution would be required, or hacked into the script somehow, but that is far too complicated for me and I don’t want the database overhead to manage.
