I’m interested in making patterns for shoe uppers using a tool that is more accurate and reliable than Squish. Does anyone have experience with the ExactFlat plugin for this application?
Hi @Mick.Shoemaker ,
I cannot speak for ExactFlat but I have developed a proprietary algorithm for the flattening and checking of complex surfaces more specifically hulls. One of the main advantages of my tool is very accurate unrolling and very advanced checking algorithm to ensure that the unrolled result matched the OG surface, if not indicates where to fix the surface.

Here you can see exactly flattened parts, in this case It’s MetalSheets but could easily be adapted to your usecase, while at it we could also generate the documenation as you need it, consider specific materials streches, adding few MM extensions to ensure fitting and so on.
