Downloaded Rhino WIP last week
Just tried to edit and import dimension style and it froze the program each time.
Anybody can confirm or maybe it’s just a glitch in my download
I’m not able to reproduce this so far. Can you post a 3dm with an annotation style you’re trying to edit or import from?
Just drawn a simple rectangle, ran dim command then just tried to edit the dimstyle
Sorry, this is embarrassing, I’m not sure how to share the file.
It wouldn’t be much of a file, I didn’t use an existing drawing or anything.

I wasn’t able to reproduce this following your steps but I did find something odd about the dim style preview in Options when adjusting the text height. It’s a separate issue but thanks for getting me to see it.

I re-installed my rhino WIP and I still get the same issue. Maybe the installer got downloaded with some glitch.
What happens is, when I try to select a dimension style, the usual window listing all available styles doesn’t pop out. I can only choose something off the line command then, when I try to edit properties it just freezes.
I don’t know if I can re download the installer and use the same serial generated, I won’t bug you more with this since it seems to be a glitch on my end.
As a general comment, being a user of Cinema 4D and Zbrush and following upcoming versions and discussions on their websites, this is vastly different.
On one hand I have to applaud your effort to get all this feedback and listen to so many voices while actively working on the code. Everywhere else, although there are always endless more or less official wish lists, in the end any new version of software is what it is. It is a very brave attempt from your part.
If even half of what your planning is implemented, it’s gonna be a great update. Only considering the SubD segment and all the viewport (reytracing) improvements and it’s a huge task.

Sorry, something is up with that attached file and it won’t download. I had a colleague check separately too and other files on other posts download normally. I’m not sure why this one isn’t working. Can you email it to tech@mcneel.com and just put a link to this forum thread in the comments along with for BrianJ?
My first hunch is that you’re editing the style in a way I’m not and that there’s nothing wrong with your download… just a bug I need to zero in on. Let me know where you are trying to edit the style props… Properties panel>Edit Style or Options>Annotation Styles for instance. It could also be a display issue since there’s a thumbnail view in the annotation style settings… that’s my second hunch. Might as well let me know what you get when you use the SystemInfo command. Just copy and paste that too if you can.

As I’m describing in my email, the problem occurs whenever I attempt to edit a (standard) dimensions style whether is through the toolbar, going into Tools/Option/Annotation/Dimensions/Edit or by having a dimension selected and trying to edit it through the properties tab.The freeze happens every time as soon as I press the Edit button.
Running an i7 with a GeForce 980 card with no issues in Rhino5, 3dMax, Cinema4D or Zbrush.
I still think it’s the installer, others must have reported the bug otherwise.

Thanks for the file. I emailed back but can you test the ViewCaptureToFile and Text commands too please? Do they hang too?
Text command doesn’t cause any issues. I can run the command and edit text normally.Here is a screen grab as well
