Drawing a polycurve made up of arc segments

I think I’ve asked before but never got to the bottom of it, so asking again -

Is there a way to draw a series of joined arc segments to form a polycurve, achieving curve continuity between the ends of the arc segments? To create polycurves like this -

Arcs are very useful for designing in landscape architecture in terms of creating curves that can be set out on site. Another advantage is that arcs offset to arcs when setting out paths/roads. So it would be great to have the above functionality.

I know there are the _convert and arcs through points commands but these are not exactly what I’m looking for.

Also not exactly the functionality I’m looking for, but I’ve found this in the archives - can anyone explain what this is and how I can test it…? Approximating curves as a series of arcs with C1 continuity

Many thanks,

Hugh

Hi @hughecchapman, start the _Polyline command and click the first point, then from the command line switch the Mode to Arcs and continue clicking the points. You can switch Mode anytime to either append a line or arc.

Many thanks @clement this is an absolute game changer!

Aghast that I’ve only just found out about this!

I was looking in the polyline command line but hadn’t clicked the first point!
