DOF and curve piping

Hi @nathanletwory there seems to be an issue with DOF and piped curves as the curves are drawn. I think that should be disabled when they have thickness:

A good thing now is that we can turn off drawing of all curves and piping is still visible though, so that’s a workaround.

Maybe curves should be blurred by DOF as well even if they don’t have pipe thickness…

Is this the DOF post effect or the camera focal blur?

Either way RhinoCycles does not draw line work.

This is the camera focal blur.
OK, so the curves are added in post. Then I guess the only workaround is turning them off in the Raytraced display mode setting. (Or bug someone else to force Rhino to not add them in post. I guess you probably know who that is.

And I presume you didn’t like the look of the small lights, so I fixed them with better geometry for refraction and internal stuff with the correct white structure and a bulb:

This is me saying that I like the render quality!

This is the way!

fwiw, that model looks awesome!! I hope you are planning on sharing the finished product at some point?

Finished? That never happens, all my work is work in progress
Haha, no, honestly I should spend some time on making some final rendering of the other builds and put them on the Gallery. One of these days…

It’s an 88" series 2a from '69. And a cool detail is that the licensplate is 881969.
I got it this summer and it has been at the shop for a few months to get road ready. (nothing complex, they just need to do it when they have sparetime) Can’t wait to take it camping though, and the plan is to add a soft top to it for summer use.

Nice! they’re pretty unique. I’ve downsized to a Jimny (new model), mini-def. even makes the same noises in the axles.
