Been trying to figure out a solution to this for a while. When dimensioning I like to have a dashed extension to my dimensioned object but I have to do this manually. is there a way of making a dimension extension a different line type and color. See example below, any guidance on this would be much appreciated

There is this 13-year-old feature request on the list for having more options for linetype and color for different parts of a dimension:

From your picture, though, it appears that you want different properties for parts of parts…
Maybe you should be looking into a script or Grasshopper definition to do this.
