Default document settings when opening DXF?

Hello.
How do we set default document settings for dxf files? It ignores the default template (Options → Files → Template Files → Default

I know I can import template after opening dxf file, but that’s far from ideal.

Thank you.

Open a blank file with the template you want and then use Import to import the DXF, not Open.

It’s the same process with the same extra steps…

DXF doesn’t contain environmental information, such as grid or what viewport should be opened, etc. So, Rhino defaults it from somewhere? Where are these defaults are stored?

They’re the defaults when you open Rhino with the “No template” setting as far as I know. They are not user accessible.

Well, that’s an oversight than.
Even AutoCAD has editable default profile that applied to everything…

@vano_artful - keep in mind that, while Rhino has some AutoCAD-like features and can read and write AutoCAD files, it is not an AutoCAD clone. If this is what you require, then you might consider something like BricsCAD or ZWCAD.
