Cutting surface

I’m stuck on something here. I need help figuring out how to cut out an area inside curve 1 and curve 2 in the surface tube. I’ve tried a few different methods, but nothing seems to be working. Any ideas?

What exactly do you want to cut in there? You can directly draw that cutting shape there in Rhino and trim it from the tube.

The curve in your file marked #2 can be used with the Surface Split component to divide the tube.

The curve marked #1 isn’t closed (109.7 units between start and end points).
